Ξελογιάστρα αθωότητα | Κατερίνα Μίχουλη

Άταφο το σ’αγαπώ, μα

εγώ σιγοτραγουδώ.

 

Ξελογιάστρα αθωότητα γελάω,

και ένα βότσαλο πετάω!

  

Άστρο ζωηρό, στον βυθό της θάλασσας

βουτώ. Πνίγω φιλήματα και αισθήματα

χαμένα.

 

Μα στο τέλος, πάντα θωρώ τον καταγάλανο

ουρανό, και ελπίζω πως κάποια μέρα θα τον 

ξαναδώ!

 Του χρόνου τα παθήματα

κρατάνε τα προσχήματα!

Ασήμαντα γραψίματα,

του έρωτα πονήματα.

 

Δακρύβρεχτα τα ποιήματα,

ανήθικα διλήμματα!

Απύθμενα προβλήματα,

ανήλιαγα αισθήματα.

 

Λαχταριστά φιλιά

και κόκκινα φεγγάρια

γεμίζουν την άδεια σου αγκαλιά!

Wildfire | Katerina Michouli

To all those poor victims (humans, nature: fauna and flora) of Greece's deadly wildfires.

Gusting winds were playing

with pine cones as those were

flying around like fireballs!

Chased by flames

trees were all trapped and ablazed.

Chased by flames

animals were all trapped and ablazed.

Chased by flames

children were all trapped and ablazed.

And flames were going upward to where

my house once was. As I was seeking comfort in

the burning sea; my friends were all found in

a field,

hugging each other in one last final embrace.

And an orange haze has

now been descended on Athens.

Katerina Michouli | The little moon bear – A very short tale!

I was born in China, in the spring, having a big white “V” shaped in my chest. My mum says that this is a sign of good luck, but I don’t see how that is it possible, because my best friend the little bunny said to me that I, and my family are quite vulnerable. “What is vulnerable?”, I asked. And he said: “You knowww, it means that you, and your family soon you will be vanished!”. “What do you mean by vanished?”. I asked with an angry tone in my voice this time. And he said, lowering his eyes:

“Poof! You will disappear…just like that!” And he ran like the wind, towards the woods! Hahaha!!! I think he feared what my reaction would be. I sooo love this little bunny, even when he says what is in his mind, without thinking that he might hurt others! Oh well, at least he is honest!
Have I told you that I like playing during the day? My dad says that we are diurnal?!?! What is that even mean?!?! Anyway…My favourite game is ‘run and hide!’ I hide, and the little bunny runs, hahahha! I also like climbing in the trees! And sometimes I stay there for hours looking at the stars! But at night, I like burying my face in my mum’s embrace, and I sleep serenely knowing that my dad will always be there to protect us from those evil humans, called poachers! Hunters, you know…My mum says that they are very mean. When I asked her why, she distracted my attention with an apple! Go figure…! I believe she didn’t want to give me an answer. Hmmm… I wonder why.
Did I tell you that our home is a beautiful oak hollow tree? It is very cosy, and in the winter we stay indoors, mostly sleeping, because it is very cold outside! Mum said that if I will be a good girl, we will have some cherries, and honey for lunch! Yay! And dad said we are going to have some eggs, and mushrooms for dinner. Not really a fan of eggs to be honest, I would have preferred some herbs instead! My dad said that I am very fussy! Pffff!!! Oh, nooo!!! I have to turn back home now, it is getting rather late! Byeeee!

An unbearable feeling | Katerina Michouli

A fall of snow, and I was

being alone. I felt bitterly cold,

when all of a sudden I felt a warm

breath, and a whisper close to my ear.

You may laugh, but I was so sure

I would see you there, and a sense of

excitement passed through every part of

my body. I felt you by me, and I could

almost see you, but then I could not!

And so, I closed my eyes, again.
